Hey, I’m Chris…

And I love cocktails! I spent many years working in the hospitality industry: restaurants, banquets, hotels, room service, you name it. Over the past few years, I’ve committed to reading, learning and researching everything about the cocktail industry, and I haven’t looked back.

Currently, I run the Home Bar Awards, a home bartending competition on Instagram. I’m also the co-founder of Sidecar, a cocktail check-in app. You can learn more about all of my projects below.

Every Other Thursday: Episode 25

“Passionate cocktail connoisseur Chris Kiertz joins us in this week’s episode and he comes at the whole cocktail landscape in quite a different way. A Boston-area tech marketer, Kiertz is not only all about the cocktails, but also the data from the people who enjoy them. Combining another of his loves, Chris starts off with some great tips on how to take incredible cocktail photos without breaking the bank. As founder of HomeBarAwards.com with its 40K Instagram followers, Chris knows more than a thing or two about marketing and cocktail imagery.”

Modern Bar Cart: Episode 147

“Our guest this time around is friend of the pod, Chris Kiertz. You may remember him from waaaay back in 2017 when Eric interviewed Chris for Episode 21, and now he’s back to talk about a few of his latest and greatest projects - including a competition that has taken the Instagram community by storm, and an app that’s already making waves in the cocktail world.”

Modern Bar Cart: Episode 21

“This week, I had the chance to sit down virtually with Chris Kiertz, who runs a home bartending community called Socktails. Socks and cocktails. Seem like an odd pairing?

It’s actually not as weird as it sounds. See, Chris uses his vibrant and quirky sock collection as the backdrop for his cocktail pictures on social media. Just like an interesting pair of socks is a great conversation starter, so are the glasses garnishes that Chris uses to stage his drinks.”
